Backyard America’s North American Made wood-burning hot tubs by Leisurecraft offer several combinations of cedar, interior materials and seating capacity. Compare the models by how many people you want to seat, the interior you prefer and whether you also want the option of cold plunge use.
The Original Cedar Hot Tub is handcrafted from clear western red cedar and seats up to three people. It measures 42 inches in total height with a 38-inch inside depth and uses an aluminum wood-fired heater for an off grid soak.
The Evolution Cedar Hot Tub 7′ seats up to five and pairs a standard white plastic liner with a western red cedar floor and skirt. It ships fully assembled and can be ordered with an aluminum wood-burning heater or without a heater for cold plunge use.
The Cascade 2 Person 3’x7′ seats two, has an aluminum shell and holds 233 gallons. Its wood heater is optional. The Starlight Wood Burning Hot Tub, part of the Canadian Timber Collection, features an aluminum-lined interior, internal heater and white cedar skirt. Western red cedar backrests and flooring complete the material combination.
How a wood-fired hot tub works
A wood-fired heater uses burning wood to heat the water. The Original’s aluminum wood-fired heater is built for an off grid soak. The Evolution can be ordered with an aluminum wood-burning heater, while the Cascade offers an optional wood heater and the Starlight includes an internal heater.
The Cascade has a stated heat-up time of under three hours, and the Starlight offers a hot soak in under three hours. These heat-up details apply to those models; use the individual product information when comparing your choices. Cascade cover options help keep heat in and water clean. The Starlight includes a roll-up cover with support arms.
Liners, materials and care
Interior construction is a useful point of comparison. The Original emphasizes handcrafted clear western red cedar, while the Cascade uses an aluminum shell and the Starlight is aluminum lined. The Evolution’s standard white liner is made from 3/8-inch HDPE plastic, hand-welded and leak-tested before shipping to avoid leaks and ease cleaning.
Include questions about the materials and care of your selected model in your quote request. The Cascade has a garden-hose drain. For round Leisurecraft hot tubs, an available red cedar 3-tier step accessory has a curved top stair. Consider your preferred cover and steps alongside the tub itself when building your request.
Hot or cold: one tub, two uses
The Evolution and Cascade offer choices for hot or cold use. Order the Evolution without its heater for a cold plunge, or use the Cascade without its optional wood heater as a cold plunge. Compare these choices with the dedicated tubs on our cold plunge page.
