	A clever but simple design makes for a straightforward installation, ease of use, and minimum maintenance. ShadeFX LT works reliably because it's based on a patent pending monorail drive that won't misalign or jam. Using a strong, durable cord, you can easily and quickly extend or retract the canopy. Clear anodized T6 aluminum extrusions are used throughout for superior strength, finish, and resistance to oxidation. The fabric is carried quietly across the pergola by aluminum spreaders that ride the track of the monorail. The natural bend of the spreaders allows rain to drain to the outer edges.
Now you can have a canopy that can be adapted to your design. No other canopy system can be configured to as many design conditions as ShadeFX LT. The system can even be used with vaulted or gable framed structures. Unlike with other systems, you don't have to worry that all of the rafters are perfectly parallel with the ShadeFX LT. With a monorail you do not need to be concerned with the spreaders getting bound up and stuck. This is really a major advantage, particularly for wood structures which change with variations in moisture and age.

We have to be careful when we make such claims. Waterproof generally means that no water gets through no matter how much water the material is exposed to. It is fabric, so there is a path between the threads for water to travel. This is good news because it means that the fabric can breath, but it also means that under extreme conditions, water can get through. Sunbrella fabrics have a very tight weave and are coated, so the fabric sheds water very well. Outdoor fabrics, however, are generally manufactured 60" wide. This means that the fabric must be stitched together to make wide canopies. If the canopy leaks, it will typically be at the seams. This is normally not a problem because if it is raining that hard you probably don't want to be out under the canopy any way. ShadeFX LT made with Top Gun fabrics are more weather resistant. First, the Top Gun fabric has a tighter weave. In addition, the fabric has a coating applied to further seal water out. The manufacturer then takes the extra step of welding the seams so that they are completely waterproof. We also send a can of sealant as a backup in case a leak ever develops. The Model C has full 2" x 8" double beams, 2" x 6" rafters with scrolled pergola ends spaced approximately 2' on center, and 1 1/2" square stringers that are spaced 12" on center. • The freestanding option doubles the number of posts/columns, adds a beam, and includes double the rafter ends.
• It is very important that care is taken to ensure that posts are mounted solidly to the deck or patio. For ground or deck mounts 5" and 6.5" vinyl sleeves can be mounted using a wooden 4" x 4" or 6" x 6".  For patio mounts 5" vinyl sleeves can be mounted using our steel post bracket.  For attached models the brackets may be mounted to the surface of the patio. For freestanding models, the support posts should be set 30" or more into the ground for patios and mounted securely to framing when added to a deck.

• Pergolas with a 10', 12', or 16' projection must have a locally obtained 2x6 pressure treated board inserted into the rafters.
• Prices include hardware required for pergola assembly and attachment. For attached pergolas, a 2 x 6 sleeve is included as a band board, however the installer will need to obtain a treated 2 x 6 to insert into the sleeve. (Note: We do not recommend cedar or redwood for the insert as they are rot resistant but not rot proof.) No Hardware for post attachment to deck or patio is included.
• Vinyl pergolas are available in white only.
• Stringers are equal to the width of the pergola. Stringers are spliced on the 18' and 20' wide model.
• Your local Building Code Official may or not require a building permit, check before ordering.
• IMPORTANT: Pergolas are not designed to support swings, hanging chairs, or other heavy objects.
